SAIPEM fitness medical examinations

At GP Matters we provide Saipem fitness medical examinations for local and international personnel under protocol "C" (Biennial).

The Saipem Fitness Medical Examination consist of:
1. Medical Report Form : 3 pages form which includes medical history, medical examiner’s report, Examination results and report etc.
2. Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) 
3.Copy of Laboratory, ECG, Xray, Audiogram, Spirometry and other instrumental examination reports

Important - It is your responsibility to provide us with the most up to date Forms required for your medical examination.

SAIPEM Medical Glasgow

Procedure:
The Saipem medical requires an extensive medical examination and blood / urine tests.
You should allow 2-3 hours for the medical (including Xray).

Notes:
(*) To be performed only if specifically required.
(**) To be performed only to the personnel who have never been vaccinated before or if expressly required.
(***) Compulsory on Pre-employment Medical Examinations and for Periodical Examination for offshore. Compulsory for employees involved in Safety Sensitive Positions (SSP). For all other employees depends on circumstances, national and international legal requirements.
(****) Chest X-ray is required on the first examination. Afterwards, the examining physician has the discretion whether to perform it or not, based on physical examination, laboratory results, epidemiological situation and local laws and regulation in the country of origin or assignment.
(*****) Exercise ECG Stress Test following Bruce Protocol Stage III is required for all employees with age of 45 years and above on the date of examination, with international and/or offshore assignment. Local employee may be subject to local laws and regulations.

Vaccination:
The Examining Physician shall monitor and promote vaccinations and/or re-vaccinations as imposed by the country of origin or as recommended by the World Health Organisation (see WHO publication) and/or requested by the Company. However, due to the particular work’ operation fields, it is recommend to vaccinate the Applicant for the Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus and Typhoid.

Please bring with you:
Photographic ID (ie. passport, driving licence)
A hardcopy of the medical form with sections 1,2 & 3 completed. This can be downloaded at the top of this page
Your glasses or contact lenses (if worn)
Copies of any significant hospital letters, abnormal results etc
E-mail us a copy of your vaccination records before the appointment

Locations:
The medical is carried out at GP Matters (24 Buckingham Terrace, Glasgow, G12 8ED). The chest X-ray is carried out at the Nuffield Hospital (25 Beaconsfield Rd, Glasgow G12 0PJ) - 5 min drive from the clinic - we will aim to arrange it for you just after your medical.

After your Saipem Medical:
Please allow 4-5- working days for your Saipem medical to be finalised. This will then be e-mailed to you and the original documents can be collected at the clinic or posted to you.

Validity
Unless foreseen by local laws and regulations or specified by the examining physician due to health surveillance limitations /restrictions, the validity of the Health Certificate shall be two years from the medical examination date.

Fees - On request
Please e-mail us the medical form / requirements for your pre-employment medical, together with your DoB, role/position and vaccination records. Also, let us know if this is your first Saipem medical.
